Here’s how to make the most sustainable (and still totally fabulous) photo booth choices for your next corporate event:

Choose the Right Photo Booth

Skip bulky photo booths that need tons of power and materials. At MISGIF, for sustainable events in Arizona we highly recommend our digital-only photo booths like our Roaming Photo Booth, Selfie Station Photo Booth and Snap-O-Matic Photo Booth that run on minimal electricity, utilize reusable equipment, offer smaller photo and video file sizes and don’t include prints. This can effectively help lower your event’s carbon footprint.

Each of our specialty photo booths offers sustainable options—from reusable props and digital sharing to energy-efficient tech and locally sourced materials. Skip Printed Photos

Want to make one small change that actually matters? Skip prints! Choosing an all-digital photo booth over one that offers printed photos is one of the easiest (and most impactful) ways to host a more sustainable event. Want prints still? We get it, and while we don’t recommend them for sustainable events we do offer optional 2″x6″ photo strips (hello, nostalgia!) At MISGIF we only print as many photos as guests request or is required, and we donate a portion of profits from every printing event to local nonprofit Trees Matter to help offset printing emissions.

Choose a Reusable Backdrop

At MISGIF, we offer over 50 in-stock, reusable photo booth backdrop options ranging from themed fabric backdrops to classic sequin backdrops to colorful fringe wall backdrops. We even partner with other Arizona woman-owned event rental businesses to create custom, one-of-a-kind backdrops from recycled or natural materials. No tacky, shiny, vinyl landfill nightmare backdrops here!

As for balloon backdrops or balloon accents on backdrops, we do not recommend them. While we know balloons are fun, affordable and make a bold statement at events, let’s be honest—they’re overdone, and more importantly…balloons are awful for the environment, in particular wildlife.

You may have seen balloon vendors on TikTok touting latex balloons as “biodegradable” lately—but don’t be fooled. While it’s true that latex balloons can break down over time, the process can take anywhere from 6 months to 4 years. And in that window? Balloons can do serious damage. Even when disposed of “responsibly,” they often end up in landfills—or worse, within reach of wildlife or contaminating local soil and waterways thanks to the chemicals used in production. Remember, just because something eventually decomposes doesn’t mean it’s harmless to the environment or wildlife.

Bottom line? Balloons are single-use and their shelf life is shorter than other more sustainable and reusable photo booth backdrop alternatives.

Choose Reusable Props Packages or Skip Them

Single-use photo booth props and feather boas? That’s a no from us. At MISGIF, we (probably) have the largest reusable photo booth prop collection in all of Arizona—especially when it comes to themed corporate events. That means you get an epic, on-brand, themed photo booth experience without needing to buy a bunch of cheap, wasteful props that end up in the trash.

We source our props with intention—from local thrift shops, women- and minority-owned businesses, and sustainable suppliers whenever possible. And when a prop retires? It doesn’t head to the landfill. We donate gently used items to Arizona nonprofits and schools that could use a little extra fun. No single-use signs. No feather boas (they’re bad for the birds!) Just props that look great and do good.

On the other hand, if you don’t need props—just skip them! A less is more mentally goes a long way when creating a sustainable photo booth experience!
